AWARD LETTER

After you submit your application for financial aid and everything is accepted and processed, then you will receive a financial aid award letter from Beulah Heights University typically we start processing in mid-June. This letter spells out the details of your financial aid package.

A financial aid package is a collection of different types of financial aid from multiple sources. It is intended to help you fill the gap between your ability to pay (your expected family contribution or EFC) and college costs (the cost of attendance or COA). It is based on your financial need, the difference between COA and EFC.

After you receive the award letter, you may be asked to return a signed copy of the letter in which you accept or reject each source of financial aid. The college will not increase other aid to compensate if you reject part of the financial aid package, such as loans. If you decide to accept your Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized loans Financial Aid recommends that you accept the Pell Grant and Scholarships.

Federal Direct Subsidized and Unsubsidized Stafford Loans, as these are very low cost loans based on financial need. The government pays the interest on subsidized loan while the student is enrolled in college at on a least half-time basis.)

Note: All first time students are required to go visit the online (www.studentloans.gov) to finish their entrance counseling and master promissory.

SELECTION CRITERIA

Upon completing your FAFSA application with BHU’s school code 0307063, you will create an account through Beulah Virtual Financial Aid Office (VFAO). Once the account has been created, you will complete, review, and electronically sign your student interview. Throughout the interview process, you will be taken through several steps that will help to collect current contact information, references, acknowledgment of entrance counseling and repayment counseling, degree program, enrollment data, estimated family contribution (EFC), attendance, and terms of attendance. At the end of the interview, students will be provided with an estimated breakdown. This breakdown will reflect the tuition and fees, estimated financial aid eligibility, and books cost for the year. This breakdown will inform the students if they will possibly have enough funding or a funding short fall per semester selected. Upon submission of the interview, the financial aid department will review the package for accuracy, and follow up with you, if additional documentation is needed. Once all documents have been submitted, in conjunction with a processed FAFSA application, and submitted interview, the financial aid office will submit the pending interview for processing. Within the next 5 to 7 business days, you should check your email regularly for a notification of your Award letter.
